Whew !! Let's see, where do we begin ?? I'm into the
martial arts big time! Currently I'm a student of 8th Dan Sensei
Paul Ortino. My style is Okinawa Kenpo Karate Kobudo, I am a Sandan
(woo hoo) and have been active in the martial arts for 26 years now.
I've trained in American Freestyle Karate under Sensei
Eddie Wilcoxen, as well as in Tae Kwon Do, (haven't we all ?? :^) and
I dabbled in Aikido as well.
Cool side kick, huh ? Yeah, it's not staged......wink wink.

I started out in the martial arts way back when
I was a teenybopper. I studied TaeKwonDo (Take one's dough)
LOL for a bit UNTIL, I saw Sabunim get WAXED by my 17 year old wrestling
buddy (John Jordan)! Man I was confused. I was in dismay, fortunately
I ran into Sensei Eddie
Wilcoxen several years later and WOW were my eyes opened! He
taught close quarters and ground fighting and EVERY aspect of martial arts.
Amazing!
I met my next Sensei
Marcus DeValentino while in Hawaii ( I had others short term as I went
overseas alot but Sensei Marcus was my next long term sensei) and there
he was able to take what I knew and blend it in to Okinawa Kenpo.
He is a gifted martial artist and genuinely nice guy. This man got
me started in Okinawa Kenpo.
I next met Sensei Paul Ortino. Man, what
else can I say? He went even further into my knowledge to really
build my repertoire. I still consider this man my foremost sensei
as he still teaches in Hawaii and is the ranking Kudansha for Okinawa Kenpo
there. He and his Yudansha guided me and really molded me into what
I feel a decent martial artist.
