Q: Man what are those funky patches you wear?
A: Well well, look here at me in my Gi...(I'm known as the Kenpo Rapper, LOL) please click on a patch;
Q: What in the world does it take to start training?
A: Ahh I see, feeling cocky huh? No just kidding...simply stop by any Ryukyu Hon Dojo and watch a class. Ask the sensei and voila!
Q: What are the belt requirements?
A: My oh my now we're talking! Requirements vary in general from dojo to dojo. However the core kata are all the same.

Q: How long does it take to be a black belt?
A: Again this varies by dojo, but in general anywhere from 2 years to 5 years, depends on the student!
Q: Can anyone join? Even families?
A: Oh yeah, actually parents like to train with their kids and quite a few dojo have classes tailored for this. We generally start kids training at 5 years old.
Q: What weapons do you train with?
A: Good question grasshopper! We use the Rokushaku Bo (6 foot staff), Sai, Kama, Tonfa, Nunchaku, Tekko, Nunte Bo, Eku Bo, Jo Bo, Timbe, and Katana. Whew!!
